Round 1: Capture the Flag

ParticipantTeamPointsTotal Score
Metro Transit Co-opBus (flag), Taxi5 (2nd Place) + 1 (LW kill)6
Rebar CustomsBig Red, Arfling, Travis Utah (flag)10 (1st Place) + 4 (HW + LW kills)14

Utah split off to kite with the flag while Big Red and the Arfling raced towards Metro, who veered towards them first. Rebar pounced on the taxi, taking it out quickly and landing heavy hits on the bus but doing so put them out of position far behind the bus, which managed to get within harpoon range of the cyclist.

The bus pulled the bike in and wrecked it but the resulting explosion also wrecked the behemoth. A timely respawn would have given MTC a strong shot at snagging both flags but unfortunately the bus exploded when it wrecked, leaving both flags unattended. With MTC forced to respawn either vehicle from their spawn point across the arena, Rebar was able to scoop them up and secure a win.

Intermission 1: The Revolution Will Be Televised

ParticipantTeamPointsTotal Score
Metro Transit Co-opBus, Taxi4 (MW + LW + LW kills)4
Rebar CustomsBig Red, Arfling, Travis Utah1 (LW kill)1

Rebar drove like absolute amateurs. Although they prepared tactical locations for the relays, they were caught with their pants down being too close to them each time, since only one can be captured per gear phase.

While Big Red and the Arfling drove donuts around the center tower, the taxi raced in, capping one point then wiping out and flipping into the center to get the second on the next gear phase. Big Red finally got the central relay before the bus overran it and the Arfling, wrecking and exploding both. Travis smashed into the third at full throttle, guaranteeing a wreck, which left Rebar the option to respawn a vehicle to race the bus to the tie breaker.

The bus was too fast for Travis to beat even at a dead sprint, so Big Red came back, lobbing its remaining mines and managing to force the bus to wipeout, putting it enough out of position for the truck to claim the tiebreaker point.

Round 2: Arena of Death

ParticipantTeamPointsTotal Score
Metro Transit Co-opBus, Taxi, Bug5 (2nd Place) + 1 (LW kill)6
Rebar CustomsBig Red, Arfling, Aztec10 (1st Place) + 4 (MW + 2 LW kills)14

Rebar split up over and around the bridge which dominated the center of the board. MTC Wound up staying grouped up but got in each others way and they were slow to advance.

The bus got within range and tried to harpoon Big Red off the bridge, but failed to do any damage. The MTC buggies rushed red and tried to get a slam on but poor rolls left it with very little damage.

The bus took down the Arwing while Big Red and the Aztec delt with the MTC buggies. Eventually the bus took a spectacular leap off one of the ramps but wound up wiping out and flipping into a bad position. The Aztec started getting in chip damage but was targeted by the harpoon. Unfortunately it had no effect and the Rebar vehicles were able to finish off the bus.

Round 2.5: Truckasaurus

ParticipantTeamPointsTotal Score
Metro Transit Co-opBus, Truck, Buggy0

Round 3: Arena of Death

ParticipantTeamPointsTotal Score
Metro Transit Co-opBus, Limo5 (2nd place) + 6 (3 MW kills)11
Rebar CustomsBig Red, Arfling, Matador10 (1st place) + 5 (HW + MW kills)15
StL JOCsBully, 2 ram jeeps, truck flamer, jeep flamer2 (3rd place) + 3 (MW + LW kills)5

Teams set up in a triangle. The Jocks began splitting their forces, fielding two on each flank towards another combatant while the last split the difference, heading over the raised bridge down the middle of the course.

MTC got caught up in the terrain and were stuck trying to reposition as the Jocks closed the distance to them.

Meanwhile RBC unleashed their new RC car bombs and used two to destroy the Jock on the bridge, but in doing so wound with their team doing doughnuts to avoid each other.

The Jocks near the MTC clashed, exchanging fire. Ultimately one of their jeeps exploded, blowing up their second jeep, and the combined explosion crippled the MTC bus and destroyed the limo.

Meanwhile the Jocks facing RBC rushed in and swarmed Arfling, wrecking it but the ensuing chain reaction removed all three from the board (Jocks got credit for all three kills, meaning minimal points for RBC)

With the Jocks eliminated, the MTC bus circled around and wrecked the stalled Matador while Big Red tried to get back to the action. Luckily it had enough mines and RC bombs left to finish off the bus before it was obliterated by the bus’s crew-mounted ordinance.
